CANOE PADDLE AROUND THE ISLET
The preferred postcard image of Castelhanos Bay, this islet is located at the extreme southern end of the beach, close to Canto da Lagoa. Constituted mainly of rocks and a few trees, it is lovingly called the Isle of Love, since it lies in the center of a heart
shape which is formed on the beach by the tides.
The trip around the Castelhanos Islet is in the traditional caiçara dugout canoes carved out of a single tree trunk by the local fishermen. The experience of navigating in the region’s typical canoes, their main local means of transportation, is accompanied by many fishermen’s tales, which reveal how the canoes are made and tell legends of the sea. The short distance between the islet and the beach is occupied by enjoying the view of the caiçara village and of Canto da Lagoa.

BOAT EXCURSIONS – BAY AND CAVEIRA TOURS
We invite you to go on a tour of Castelhanos Bay on a powerboat or caiçara canoe, admiring the incredible scenery on the ocean side of Ilhabela. Our guides are local fishermen with vast experience in boat navigation along the coastline and beaches of
the region. The tours start from Castelhanos Bay and head north or south of the Bay, from where we can see the surrounding beaches and villages, as well as observe the rocky shores, slopes and sandbank vegetation.

Visitors may explore two different itineraries:

CAVEIRA TOUR
BAY TOUR
In power launches, heading north of the island, passing beaches like Caveira and Eustáquio. We shall walk to Eustáquio scenic point, with a view of the Bay of Castelhanos (low difficulty level) and stop for 60 minutes for a dip in the sea at Guanxumas beach. With a calm and clear sea, its waters are great for snorkeling.

In power launches or caiçara canoes, head south, passing Mansa, Vermelha, Codó, Sombrio and Figueira Beaches, where we shall stop for 60 minutes for a dip and snorkeling in crystalline sea and also visit the caiçara village inserted in the Ilhabela State Park.

Reservations – are made via the Reservation Center and are subject to availability.
Cancellation policy – in case meteorological conditions do not allow access to Castelhanos Beach, the cancellation policy shall be applied. In case the sales are made at the parking lot, availability and conditions shall be verified prior to the tour.
Restrictions – pregnant women, in delicate state of health, those handicapped and with reduced mobility, people who do not know how to swim.
Minimum recommended age - as of 6 years of age
Important information – we suggest that this tour is not for those people who suffer from sea sickness.
What to bring – sunscreen, bug repellant, water, a hat, raincoat and waterproof camera or with waterproof cover and bag.

Breakfast and lunch may be offered on this tour if requested. The menu will be provided when requested and the ingredients are subject to the season. Meals are not included in the price of the tour.
