Visitation Rules!

Observe our Visitation Rules:

THE VISITOR:

  1. Castelhanos is Ilhabela’s largest bay encompassing approximately 2 km of white sands. Grasp the opportunity to roam around this paradise and enjoy our beach!
    But please, do not wander around in our community without a local guide;

  2. The nature we live in here is marvelous, and we have one of Brazil’s most beautiful beaches. Take lovely pictures and keep wonderful memories of our beach, but do not take pictures of our community and houses without authorization;

  3. Observe our guides’ requests and do not disperse from the groups. Avoid walking around unaccompanied in our community;

  4. Our canoes are used for our artisan and traditional fishing modes and are very important for use on a daily basis. Please do not board the canoes on the beach nor meddle with the oars without our authorization;

  5. The wonderful native Atlantic Rainforest vegetation surrounding our beaches took a great deal of time to grow, consider this. In addition to being beautiful, they are essential to maintain the stability of the island’s ecosystem. Do not remove these native plants so that others may also enjoy their exotic beauty;

  6. Help us always maintain our paradisiacal beach clean; take your garbage back with you;

  7. In our homes live families who are openheartedly disposed to receive you.
    However, please remember that, upon visiting somebody, it is always important to ask permission, use adequate clothing and follow the host’s orientations;

  8. Take advantage and the time while you are in this Paradise to listen to the sounds of nature and note how different it all is from being in the city! Relax and avoid unnecessary noise in order not to disturb the local inhabitants and fauna;

  9. Respect our space. Carrying or consuming alcoholic beverages or drugs is not permitted in the community and along the trails;

  10. We shall receive you warmly and happily in our guesthouses and restaurants. Grasp the opportunity to savor our traditional caiçara cuisine!

  11. On the beach, along the trails and in the community camping, picnicking and barbecuing is not permitted outside established camping sites.
